- The human rights of a severely disabled boy and his mother were violated
when doctors who thought he was dying overrode his mother's objections and
gave him diamorphine to ease his death, the European court of human rights
ruled yesterday. The unanimous ruling by seven judges in Strasbourg means
that, except in a clear emergency, doctors should seek high court approval
