I have looked at your web site. My story is that
of my dad who nearly 2 years ago was given a Morphine/ Diamorphine overdose
and was left in a coma and heart failure because the consultant refused to
treat him and told me he was dieing of a chest infection. While in the
hospital and having one to one nursing he pulled his catheter and it snapped
off leaving a bit inside him. He screamed for 13 hours. He had his penis tied
of with a bit of gauze for 2-3 hours without being observed. My dad feels he
has been sexually assaulted. He is only alive today because my sister asked
for a medical doctor to see him or she would do the hospital for murder. The
medical doctor came and gave the antidote and something for the heart failure
and he alive to tell the tail.
The questions we are asking the hospital is what
drug was he given at 2am. The nurse has written that she gave Diamorphine
10mgs at 2 am. He was not written up for Diamorphine. I was there that night
and he did have an injection at 2 am. The hospital is saying that she wrote
the wrong name of drug, the wrong dosage and the wrong time it was given at
7am in the morning. In the Control book it says he had Morphine 7.5mg at
0.45am and in the nursing notes Diamorphine 10mgs at 2am. In the control Book
for that night there is no time given for Morphine given to one patient and
also 10mgs discarded. Why would 10mgs of Morphine be discarded, without reason
written into the book.
Another scary fact is the hospital has given me
the names of 2 doctors who looked after him regarding the catheter problem.
one of the doctors is on a restricted register and the other has never
been heard of. Doesn't sound too good. Why were they allowed to operate on my
dad without proper consent as he was hallucinating? They refuse to tell
me the name of the doctor who tied off his penis.
To put it mildly my family had 6 weeks of hell
trying to save our dad from being killed off in the hospital. Thankfully it
played off and he is still alive to bet on his horses. We are not taking the
hospital to court for money, but we want to stop what happen to him. We do not
want other patients to suffer mentally and physically like he did. The
hospital is covering up for many mistakes. Please help me to get to the truth.
