NHS Support Federation public debate

The NHS Support Federation is holding  a public meeting in the House of Commons on Tuesday 24 July at 7.00pm.

The subject of the meeting is "A New Prescription for the NHS?". With Gordon Brown now in Number 10 we will ask how we can make the most of the strengths of our health service, whether we are heading in the right direction, and what can be learned from other countries' experience.

As Prime Minister Gordon Brown confronts a service in the midst of major reform, much of which is controversial, with questions remaining about the lack of evidence to support the changes. So what are the alternatives for our health service? With the 60th birthday of the NHS being celebrated next year, we all want to see a solution that secures the future of the health service for the next 60 years. The meeting will look at what is working and which policies need review.

Our speakers include:

  • Frank Dobson MP (former Secretary of State for Health)
  • Stuart Jeffery (Green Party health spokesperson)
  • Norman Lamb MP (Liberal Democrat health spokesperson)
  • Neal Lawson (Compass)

Time and venue:

July 24th 2007, 7.00pm, Grand Committee Room, House of Commons

To reserve a place simply email olivia@nhscampaign.org or david@nhscampaign.org. We would be delighted if you could come along.
